SMS is the Swedish Milk Standard which was created for the stainles steel tubing and connection elements intended for use in food industy and other hygienic application.As the DIN Standard materials, SMS standard connection elements are also widely used around the world, and particularly in Europe.
Unlike DIN design, SMS couplings have a nut with a round groove and an "L" type gasket with seamless straight cross section.
The typical standard material of the gasket is EPDM. However, various other material options are also available.
The maximum operating pressure is rated at 15 Bar (1.5 Mpa) in ambient temperature
